Well its safe to say we are not enjoying delhi. we dont really like the vibe of the place (constant sellers, swindlers and pesky rickshaw drivers.) we have also seen the aftermath of 2 deaths, one a murder, one unknown and we saw a body yesterday with some policemen which i think was also dead.
Our worker ASHA is tough, we are right in a slum and are running a kids club 4 hours a day, but the commute takes us nearly 1 hr each way. the kids are lovely though. we have taught them some welsh! we are only going to do a week though as it is so hard. it takes us half an hour to find somewhere to eat lunch and the only place we would risk is mcdonalds! we hate ourselves for it, and the slum dwellers would happily have us round for food as they are very friendly, but obviously we cant eat their food. Seeing a slum from the inside is very different from outside. They are mostly surounded by rubbish, sewage and animals, but it is obvious even in a 6ft by 6ft living space the women here are still proud of their home and they are swept and dont smell too bad. ASHA do amazing work here, they are literally saving lives. They have pretty much left us to run these kids clubs on our own though.
well we are going to goa on monday and we cant wait, we are with ASHA tomorrow and then in Agra to see the Taj Mahal on sunday so the end is in sight. Thanks for your comments, they really lift our spirits. we heard about that boat thing in devon! we met someone from exmouth yesterday. So i know thats true, though not sure about some of the other things tim oakes has said??
we have tried to put up some pictures but the internet cafe we have here is pretty basic. Once we find one with some half decent computers it will definately be our first job.

Poor you, it sounds horrendous!
Enjoy Goa and the Taj Mahal.
Welsh / Indian accents are very similar - but wait a minute - don't you speak Indian?
And eating at McDonalds! I hope you realise you will never be able to show your faces in Linden again?
hey hey...
sounds like an "experience" to say the least,
Are you looking forward to some psytrance in Goa? Im sure it will be like the raves in the gower (well nearly).
Are you going to a restaurant called the taj mahal or the actual taj mahal ;-), and speaking of food surely you can find a starbucks for your lunchrather than mcdonalds, it turns out there are 156 starbucks within 5 miles of my house, discusting!
anyhow i hope you are both safe and sound,
lots of love from landan!
god bless
riley
I lie to make friends. Most of what I said was sprinkled with the truth but i write with considerable poetic licence!
Sounds hideous but keep trying to find the positives and look forward to the adventures yet to come.

Fair trade McDonalds hey!You will be eating Nestle products soon. What an excuse because you are in India. Goa should be like heaven in comparision to Delhi Helli.
Sorry Delhi didn't urn out to be what you wanted - at least you can say you've experienced it tho! Try not to have any more Mc D's or you'll be on that programme Super Size Me! Have fun and il spk to you soon xx
Well it sound like I'm not a celebrity but get me out of here anyway!
youv'e even had your own bushtucker trials- eating McDonalds. Seriously, trust you will get through the next couple of days and things get better. Have sent e-mail luv u lots
Hi guys. Sounds like you are having quite a time. I'm sure the kids will love anything you can offer them. Don't be too nervous about eating in peoples homes. You can get Delhi belly with or without receiving hospitality. As long as you wash hands, don't eat salad, drink bottled water and are there when it is cooked it is nearly always fine. I'm sure that you will be blown away by the Taj - it truly the most fab building in the world.
love us x
Missing you lots from Adina, Leon and Jedidiah. XXX
P.S. have emailed you Jared.
