sorry for the delay in news, weve had trouble loading our blog. This maybe our last post from India as we fly to Singapore on Monday.
Well we have enjoyed Goa, we have seen quite a lot of it, our most recent excursion being to Anjuna where we went to our first Goan rave on the beach and met some Welsh people. We also bumped into someone from Swansea who Jared knows so it was lovely to chat about familiar things.
We were both stopped by the police the other day while on the moped and we had to slip them some money for us to get rid of them. We also discovered a scam by which a man pretends to clean your ears and charges for the service! he does this with a rather gruesome looking needle, its safe to say when he came near Jareds ear with this he ran a mile!
goa has provided us with some amusing spelling mistakes, here are our favourites....
The buses all have signs saying no spitting, but variations on this were,
no spiting
no spetting
no splitting (our favourite)
others include
Coppochinos, Strite (Sprite) and Cheery Brandy
Bone fires
Flee market
Motor Bick
Lather Jackets
Other stories we havent got space to tell are
Plates that smell of wee
Hidden speed bumps (painful on a moped)
Misunderstanding Indian gestures (it looks like no but it means yes)
The creative sellers who try everything possible to get you into their shop
Our greatest haggling moments
Drinking Cashew Fenni (Goans famous drink)
We will have to save those up for when we get back
Also I (rach) found out i passed both my accountancy exams! so im really chuffed, anyway see you in Singapore!

Goan Around and Around

Once again we're sorry for the no pics yet. if you want to see how brown we are and a massive fish i caught then send us an email and i'll forward you.
We hope you're all well.
It's great here. Feels like we're holiday makers not backpackers. It's 35 degrees every day and i'm getting lots of new freckles. ( the Indians seem to think its a disease and that i either need a doctor, an umbrella or some special cream! - I guess they don't see many freckles)
Most days we spend reading on one of the beautiful beaches here, jumping in the surf then going out for food to a restarant. (theres loads of good food and its all really cheap) Although even on the beach we get hassled from people selling maps, fruit, clothes, toys, massages, jewellery, ice cream, days out...its nuts but they're less persistant than Delhi and Mumbai. We hear its snowing in the UK. Wow! No work. No school. Pull a sickie! Go on. Enjoy the break.
We went crusing round today on a moped. felt like i was in easyrider, but its only 100cc. was nervous at first but we get the hang of it after some crazee wobbles. Everyone drives them here. We saw a family on one the other day! We did a cruise the other day and saw loads of dolphins and i caught that fish you may have seen. It was a Kingfish (not the lager) and we then ate it for lunch. They cooked it for us.
Keeping well away from the Goan Trance at the mo. It's all 80's Cheese and lots of UB40 here in Costa Del Cavallossim. We are going to explore up north in a few days, thats where the free parties, the hippies and the backpackers go.
We hope you're all well. We miss you, some of you less than others!
It's great to be here and rest but we are missing people and Britian at times. Anybody know any cures for homesickness?
love jared and rachel
